One of the most interesting and indeed challenging aspects of the mission is the carry-on luggage only for 3 nights away.
Not mentioning names but someone other than me that is partaking in the mission will struggle with that. It is quite possible that on our first pass through Adelaide a substitute carry-on will be passed, like a baton to Jo.
Oops, I mentioned names.
I'm thinking we'll go a hard case and back pack but maybe the practice pack will be the judge.
It's hard to believe in 2 week's time it'll be mission-eve with our flight to Darwin from Adelaide being on Saturday 27 April.
Tomorrow we're off to our neighbour's house to celebrate their daughter's 40th. It's certainly raining 40ths this year.
1973 was also the year of Seth MacFarlane, Neil Patrick Harris (that one surprised me, but then it didn't), Tyra Banks, Omar Epps (both in a pretty cool movie called Higher Learning), Kate Beckinsale, Larry Page (Google dude), Shannon Elizabeth, Neve Campbell, Bridgette Wilson and Sachin Tendulkar. Gotta say there is a veritable smorgasbord of attractive actresses in that group.
Famous 1973 Aussies include Portia De Rossi, Catherine Freeman, Kieren Perkins & Radha Mitchell.
On a more sombre note, I visited Memphis, Tennessee in 2011 which, as well as being home to Elvis's Graceland, was the city in which Dr Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. I am now older than MLK was when he died. Memphis is a great city, I'm drawn to cities that demonstrate how great humans can be but have an aspect of their past that shows how F*%#ed up humans can be too. To walk down Beale St in Memphis on a balmy evening listening to great music is such a contrast compared to that sad moment in Memphis's past. I also learnt during that trip that Otis Redding was only 26 when he died - feel free to win bets off of that tidbit.
I like Amsterdam for the same reason - to visit Anne Frank House and a coffee shop in the same day certainly covers the spectrum, especially if followed by a stroll
I know you probably didn't read the last couple paragraphs because you were busy Googling famous people born in your year - thanks if you made it this far.
