I reckon at this stage of the game it's time for a blog entry per day.
As always, gotta start with the thanks to the recent supporters, Bec and Jobie 1.
We're now past $2,500 which is truly amazing. We've had support from those directly linked to the cause we're supporting. We've had donations from people born in 5 different continents (that I know of), donations from about a dozen countries. A sizeable chunk of donations are from people I have never met - they're possibly even of South American or Antarctic origin!
I'm also very grateful to those who have spread the word.
I truly believe, pardon the pun, that this little fundraiser is about to take off and we'll get an exponential increase in donations.
As an aside I don't think I've joined the dots in this forum as to what led me to this crazy idea in the first place. Last year I was pondering the impending 4-0 and realised how fortunate I am to live in Australia. So whilst the idea seems zany it was a fait accompli to connect my birthday to my country.
