2013 is almost 5% complete!
Although this is the 41st different year in which I have lived I am still only 39. But not for long...
Planning for Jo's 40th is almost complete and Ben's 40th is nervously awaiting any schedule changes that may come about from the flow-on effects of the Qantas/Emirates alliance which has moved even closer to reality today.
For my 40th I need two days annual leave and I have used the new Sybiz Visipay module for Leave Management to put in my leave request. Sweet.
Unfortunately DJ1530 hasn't had a weekday resurrection - and in typing that I thought I'd better check my trusty 'plane nerd' app FlightTrack to make sure I'm telling the truth - and it was showing some of my other flights in a deprecated context. But I think that's more a remnant of Virgins' recent system upgrade. Phew.
This weekend I'm going to be training for the big day by partaking in the 50th anniversary of the Schutzenfest here in Adelaide. It's only 4km from home which will make for a nice walk or two. So that will mean that in the last few years we've participated in Guinness's 250th in Dublin (2009), Coopers 150th (2012) and Schutzenfest's 50th (2013) - both in Adelaide. So, 40's not that old, is it?
